(244 words) Maxim Gorky wrote an autobiographical story about the life of a boy Alyosha - half an orphan. The hero lives in a philistine environment, the morals of which can be called cruel. In this difficult world there are both good and evil people. But a special place in the fate of the boy is occupied by his own grandmother Akulina Ivanovna. She teaches the young hero important life lessons.
Grandma has big eyes and a bright smile. Her speech is smooth, folding, like a song. When Akulina Ivanovna is nearby, Alyosha feels joy. He loves to listen to fairy tales and stories from the past, which in the mouth of his grandmother also sound like fairy tales. The heroine knows how to dance: not just mechanically repeat movements, but tell a story. There are legends about grandmother’s ability to weave lace. She mastered this skill in her childhood, when it was necessary to raise funds for food. Until now, the residents of the city are turning to Akulina Ivanovna for “good work”. As an elderly woman recalls, this helped her survive a period of lack of money: once her husband refused to “feed” her. She does not complain about life, although it has always been difficult for her: the loss of her father, the disrespectful attitude of her husband, dependence on him ... But the grandmother knows how to endure: thus the Lord bequeathed. Akulina Ivanovna believes in God and speaks to him as a person.
Grandma has a strong character. When a fire occurs, it does not lose its presence of spirit, takes things out of the fire, helps organize the extinguishing process. Akulina Ivanovna regrets not herself, but others: sick people, quarreling spouses, poor children. Someone from the neighbors calls her blessed. But shouldn't that be the person who disinterestedly loves all around? I want to believe that Alyosha will become just as kind, merciful, courageous and hardworking.
