Nekrasov’s poem “Sasha” is a work that can be useful as a source for argumentation. The main events that shape the plot illustrate important issues and topics. Therefore, a very brief content of the book for the reader's diary will be needed by all students.
(469 words) The poem begins with a description of nature, and then it is said about the storyteller’s decision to go on a trip where he will settle among peaceful neighbors: elderly parents and their daughter Sasha. Her parents loved her and gave free rein, so the girl grew a wild flower in the village, but they did not educate her mind. Sasha is a dark-skinned, ruddy, black-haired beauty with a pure soul, who has not yet known passions and concerns, anxieties and doubts. She watches the work of the villagers, runs through the fields, enjoys the beauty of nature and sings songs. One slave is familiar to Sasha, this is a river, because the mill prevents her from breaking out, but the girl considers the "murmuring" of the river to be crazy. Admiring the daughter, spouses think that it is necessary to search for her groom.
In winter, the girl is entertained by fairytale nannies and sledding. Sorrow Sasha found out when they cut down her beloved forest. In the intertwined branches of trees she saw the nests of firebirds, from which the "new tribe" was already ready to hatch. In the morning, her dream was strong and quiet, so that even the “first dawns of the passions of the young” illuminating her did not reflect any heart anxieties.
Further, the author tells from the words of the girl’s father what happened to her. Lev Alekseevich Agarin calls into the neighboring estate. A young man caresses a servant, outwardly thin and pale. Barin called himself a “migratory bird”, because he traveled a lot around Europe, and now he begins to think that an eagle is circling above him, as if predicting a great share. He and Sasha talked a lot, he read to her, taught French, talked about different countries. Together with her, he talked about the poverty of man, that he was unhappy and angry. At the table, he convinced their family that the sun of truth would soon rise.
After leaving Agarina, Sasha was sad. She even stopped doing her usual amusements. The girl reads and writes letters that she doesn’t show, cries, writes books to herself. For all her scholarship, she retained the kindness of her heart.
Sasha was nineteen years old, Agarin returned, marveled at her beauty. The girl tells the guest about everything she read, but he reads it to her. The neighbor no longer has previous convictions. Leo Alekseevich laughed at the help that Sasha provided to the poor, and called this occupation a "toy."
Seventeen days have passed since the neighbor arrived, and the girl wanders in longing like a shadow. Hagarin is going to leave, but writes to Sasha: he offers her a marriage. She refused, her family persuaded her, but in vain. Leo Alekseevich leaves, and Sasha begins to yearn more. Mother and father worry about the state of their daughter, they call their neighbor a warlock and a demon.
The author reassures the elderly, explaining that Agarin is one of those who created a new time. Such "heroes" are engaged in the search for a gigantic affair. They try to do good, but, not noticing, destroy what is at their fingertips. Love excites only their head. They have nothing in their souls, therefore only the book they read reads on it “yesterday”. These always blame the world for their failures, so when they get down to business, wait for trouble.
Fortunately, Sasha realized that she should not be with Agarin, and her melancholy, as the author says, will go away with time. The narrator notes that the neighbor awakened a lot of “untouched forces” in the girl, which will only become stronger in the future.
