The Literaguru team greatly appreciates Pushkin’s work, so he does not get tired of rereading his works. But if you are not one of those who are ready to boast of free time, then for you we will retell the main events from the book "Dubrovsky" as briefly as possible.
(348 words) Two long-standing comrades went hunting with other guests. One of them is Kirill Petrovich Troekurov, a wealthy landowner with undeniable authority in the county. The second is the poor, but proud and straightforward nobleman Andrei Gavrilovich Dubrovsky. They hunted in the land of Troekurov.
During the hunt, friends had a fight. Dubrovsky noted that the peasants of Troyekurov live worse than his dogs, and the kennel dared to hint that the guest himself did not live well. The insulted master left and demanded to flog the insolent, but the request was refused. As a result, Troekurov decided to break the friend’s proud resistance and started a lawsuit to rob his estate. Selling officials vividly proved the rich man. Broken Dubrovsky fell ill with grief and died, and the heir arrived and found his father on his deathbed and drove out Troekurov, who came to make peace, realizing that he had gone too far. Offended completely, Cyril Petrovich took his friend’s lands, ruining his son.
Vladimir, realizing the injustice of the court, decided to set fire to the estate at night so that no one would get it. The peasants wanted to go with him. But one of them locked the door of the house, and officials who remained to spend the night died. Now Dubrovsky and his serfs were on the run, and over the next few years formed a gang attacking the landowners.
A French tutor came to Troekurov, and none of those present recognized him as a masked Dubrovsky, who had infiltrated the house to take revenge. The master has two children: daughter Mary and her younger brother. Frenchman teaches a boy. Once the landlord got amused and pushed the teacher into a cage with a bear. The brave hero shot the animal, and he was respected at home.
Marya and Vladimir fell in love. But the father decided to marry his daughter as a rich old man. Dubrovsky invites her to run away, but the heroine tries to persuade Troyekurov to have mercy on her and not to marry her against her will. As a result, the whole house learns that the Frenchman is Dubrovsky, and the imaginary teacher escapes from the house. Lovers exchange notes that are placed in an oak hollow in the garden. Kirill Petrovich sets the date of the wedding, but at the last moment transfers it, as he intercepts the news in the hollow of the oak and guesses the plan of escape.
The wedding took place prematurely, and Dubrovsky frees Marya too late. Vereisky wounds him, and the newlywed refuses to run, because the wedding ceremony forever bound her to her husband.
Vladimir dissolves the gang and leaves the country.
