In relation to the main character there is no indulgence, but on the contrary, love and acceptance of all aspects of his personality. We can say that the author is trying to judge his actions fairly and honestly, defending his worldview, independent of the character. Life in the village seems to AS Pushkin empty and meaningless, Eugene sees in it "rural freedom." The attitude to Tatyana also varies. Only at the end of the novel, Onegin awakens and feels belated love for her.
Pushkin treats the reader as the best friend who can listen to and understand him. He very affectionately addresses him: “My reader”, “my friends”, “my dear”. The novel clearly depicts the disease of society, which the author was able to overcome by abandoning the moral principles of light and the well-known rules of honor. The novel shows the life, way of life, the interests of the nobility, an attempt to find the answer to the question: what is the meaning of life? Is the ideal of life in the bustle of the capital's nobility?

The figure of the author attracts with personality traits, unique views, friendly attitude to his characters. His role among the characters is very significant. The line, his evaluative view of some actions exist on their own, regardless of the opinion of the protagonist. The author fills the pages of the novel with unusual lyricism with his presence. He is the same full-fledged character with his own character, worldview, moral values. Intervention in the plot is organic, justified and does not distort the development of the plot.
